I am a freelance writer with a specialty in film and literary criticism, as well as general academic writing. I've written extensively on the subject of transnational, diasporic, and postcolonial film, and plan to pursue such subject matter in a Cinema Studies graduate program in the near future. I also write film, literary, and music reviews. I've conducted interviews with musicians, artists, authors, filmmakers, students, collegiate instructors, etc.
I worked as a Studio Mentor, videographer, and video editor at the Plangere Culture Lab, which is housed in the Rutgers University Writing Program. I have been a core collaborator in both producing and conceptualizing the pedagogy of Plangere Culture Lab, which deals with educational reform that supports immersive learning environments, the use of New Media and technologies as a means to compose as well as collaborate, as well as research that embraces contemporary and interdisciplinary issues in their complexity.
I was also a leader in nonprofit arts organization Collaborative Arts, which is based in New Brunswick, NJ. I served the Coordinator of coLAB Film Festival, the Coordinator of the Media Archive Department, and the Internship Coordinator. coLAB Film Festival operates perennially and embodies the mission of showcasing and supporting local film and video while bridging New Brunswick filmmakers with national and international filmmakers and artists.
From 2008 to 2009, I was resident videographer for Insurgo Stage Project, which is an experimental theater dance group based in New Brunswick, NJ.
